We, Frenchies, were not too happy when The Weather Channel announced that a major snowstorm was headed our way. We were very concerned when they said that it could cause widespread damage to trees and bushes and that power lines could come down. They really hit the nail on the head this time, but unfortunately, there was very little anyone could do to prepare for this terrible storm.
1 Francesca, I feel so badly about how much damage occurred to so many beautiful trees at the farm. Let's drive around in the Kawasaki and have a look.
2 Martha wasn't kidding when she said that her golden rain trees were decimated. Look at all those branches piled up waiting for the wood chipper. Is that Gyurme over there cutting with a chain saw?
3 Gyurme, it must be very hard for you and the other guys to have to cut these trees down. I mean, first you planted them and watched them grow and now you're sawing them up to turn into wood chips! It's just so sad!
4 I remember when Martha planted this grove of Royal Paulownia trees. They grew to an impressive height of 30-feet in just a few years and now they stand in ruin! Let's drive and check on the field of Christmas trees.
5 Phew! Fortunately, the Christmas trees survived the storm and all seems healthy and happy here.
6 However, that is not the case with all of the boxwoods on the farm. Look how misshapen these round forms are. How terrible! I wonder if they'll get back in shape once the snow melts?
7 Good morning, Maureen! As Martha's business manager, you must be very concerned about the cost of all this storm damage. So many specimen trees have been ruined and we know how much a tree can cost!
8 Hey you, donkeys! Come towards the fence. We'd love to talk to you.
9 Say, Clive, Rufus, and Billy, what did you think of this early and heavy snow?
10 We were safe in the stable, Sharkey, but thank you for asking. You should go see the chickens as they were not as lucky. We heard that one of the hens died during the storm.
11 Hey, hens and roosters! We heard about your loss and we're so sorry! Martha told us that your wire roof collapsed, but we see that it's already fixed. This farm crew works hard and fast!
